A conversation with Jim Williams, former Manager of the Federal Aviation Administration’s UAS Integration Office
On June 1, 2015, James (Jim) Williams retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as the Manager of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Office. In that capacity, Jim and his staff were responsible for carrying out the 2012 congressional mandate to integrate UAS into our nation’s airspace.
Now a co-chair of the UAS team in Dentons’ Aviation and Aerospace practice, Jim advises companies involved in or considering the UAS business, including manufacturers, operators, users and insurers. As perhaps the best-known individual in the UAS arena, he brings unparalleled knowledge of the technology, the industry and the FAA’s role.
In this unique webinar, Jim will address a wide range of topics, including
- What is allowed by the Small UAS Notice of Proposed Rulemaking?
- When will the Rule be Final?
- What is next for FAA rulemaking for Unmanned Aircraft Systems?
- What is needed for beyond visual line of sight operations?
- What is the barrier for night operations?
- Can UAS Package delivery happen in the near future?
- What is aircraft certification and why it is desirable?
If you have questions for Jim or specific topics you would like him to address, you may submit them in advance here. Jim will also take questions live during the webinar.
This is one webinar you do not want to miss!
